| I was involved in a Sammy rescue in Northern California. We got Nellie who was a 6 year old for additional 5 years until she passed away at 11 in 1995.
She was a wonderful companion to my, at that time 4 year old Sammy named Pete. Nellie was debarked, missing teeth and overweight, but she was a terrific "kid" and we feel that we gave her quality life for her remaining years as well as giving love back to us. Older dogs are really great and you treat them with the love and respect that you would want back as you get older. Pete is now 12 and he still has the Sammy twinkle in his eye and Christmas in his heart. G. Shippie |
