Georgia's Story

"Spring", now renamed "Georgia", was picked up by Denver Samoyed Rescue from a shelter in the Colorado Springs area (and adopted by Robynn and her family) in 08/96. She was 3.5 years old at the time.

A letter from Georgia's new person to Deb Castro of Denver Samoyed Rescue...

09/23/97

Debbie,

Finally, here is a picture of Hannah with Georgia (adopted as "Spring" from your rescue group, summer 1996). Georgia and Hannah have become quite a team. They joined a 4-H dog club in January, and have worked very hard together on obedience and showmanship. They took 9th place in both categories at the Douglas County 4-H dog show in July. In August at the Boulder County show they placed 2nd in showmanship (after tying for 1st and doing a runoff!) and 4th in the obedience, qualifying to participate in the show at the State Fair, where they made a respectable showing amidst some amazing competition.

Hannah has done a lot of reading on Samoyeds and was inspired to write a research report on the history of the breed as one of her independent projects at school.

I am also pleased to report that we no longer have a separation anxiety problem. Georgia now seems calm and happy. The lilac bush that she "pruned" nearly to the ground even came back!

Thanks again for saving her and others like her. We love having her in our family.

Robynn M.
