How Do I Adopt A Samoyed ?

The first step in adopting a Sam is completing an application form. You can complete the application on line by clicking here and it will be automatically forwarded to me.

You can also obtain one via fax by emailing me your fax number or one by snail mail by emailing me your address at samoyedsaver@aol.com

You can read about the dogs we have that are currently in need of a home by clicking here

After your application is received, you will be contacted by SRO, even if we don’t have any dogs immediately available.  We do maintain a waiting list of interested and qualified adopters and if you application is approved and dogs are not available we will put you on that list.

We also can and do assist with adoptions from out of state.  A national list is maintained of dogs available. Click here to see them. You can also check Petfinder and search for Samoyeds.

When your application is approved, we will then do a home visit and arrange a meeting between you and any available dogs.  If everything is satisfactory and all parties wish to proceed we then complete an adoption contract and the adopter makes a $150 adoption donation to SRO.  This donation is used to offset the costs that SRO incurs when it acquires the dog.

All dogs that we offer for adoption have been spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heart worm tested, had a thorough vet exam and freshly groomed.  They come with their collar, leash, a small supply of food,  their “personal” toys, if any and an informational book about Samoyeds.

After the adoption, SRO remains available for support and guidance.  We belong to an extensive network of Samoyed lovers, rescue people, show people, pet people, working dog people and there is wealth of knowledge and help for frustrating situations.
